Molly and Olivia are sisters who understand what it means to be human in this world. We get what it is like to suffer, to not understand yourself or be understood by others, and to feel alone. We will meet you in our shared humanity, while providing effective help and genuine care based in our combined more than 25 years of professional experience in the mental health field.

We know that seeking support can be a big step for anyone and often takes a lot of courage.  Feeling safe and secure are important parts of this process.  Molly and Olivia are excited to receive you with warmth, gentleness, understanding, and a readiness to help.

Our vision for you, the clients of Heffernan Counselling, is for you to have the skills and self-knowledge to effectively, compassionately, and authentically navigate your life, as the flawed, complex, and wonderful human that you are.

We believe that all humans have inherent worth and are deserving of quality therapeutic care.

Heffernan Counselling embraces anti-oppressive values and practices cultural humility. We naturally embed trauma-informed practices within our work, including choice, collaboration, transparency, and safety. We acknowledge the inherent power dynamics within the therapeutic relationship, as well as the privilege and power within the systems that we work and live.

In addition to being therapists, Molly and Olivia love being in the great outdoors with their third Heffernan sister. Give us forests, fields, beaches, anything outside! While Moll and Liv have outgrown their childhood arguments over who gets the last cookie, we continue to have healthy debate about who has the cutest canine friend!
